A Break at Last in the Molly Bish Murder Case?
Police have named a person of interest, 21 years after the abduction that baffled investigators.
For 21 years, the abduction and murder of 16-year-old Molly Bish from Massachusetts has remained an unsolved crime. Now, investigators believe they have made a significant break in the case and have named a person of interest.
Francis ‘Frank’ P Sumner Sr, a convicted sex attacker, has been pinpointed as a key part of the investigation by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office. Her family will undoubtedly hope this is the missing link they have been looking for in finally finding out who killed Molly.
A mysterious disappearance
The Bish family originated from Detroit, but moved to the small Massachusetts town of Warren in the 1990s. Ironically, they had made the transition after a woman was abducted and murdered in their previous neighbourhood and they wanted a safer place for the family to live.
Molly, 16, was an outgoing teenager who was excelling at Quaboag Regional High School by the year 2000. Her brother John had inspired her to become an athlete and lifeguard, and she stood out in her softball, basketball and soccer teams.
