The chiropractor was kidnapped from her workplace — and her brutal murder was eerily similar to another killing in almost the same location the same year.
Ruth Haut, 41, was a popular figure in her local community of Vero Beach in Florida in 1992. She was a chiropractor who rented a room at a small practice in Kissimmee and she had a large family with whom she was particularly close.
But an evening appointment she had scheduled like any other would rip all that away — and more than three decades on, her loved ones are no closer to getting justice. What’s more, their case is apparently linked to another unsolved murder in almost the same location with perplexing similarities.
With time ticking by, can both families ever hope to see the two investigations solved?
Ruth goes missing
Ruth had a live-in girlfriend named Jean Wagner at the time of her death, and the two had been cohabiting for around four years. Jean remembers telling Ruth goodbye and that she loved her on the morning of February 26th 1992 and leaving work before her.
