Arrest Made in 30-Year-Old Cold Case Following ‘New and Significant Information’
Police investigating the murder of Carol Clark have been questioning a man on suspicion of the crime.
Police investigating a 30-year-old murder case in the British county of Gloucestershire have announced they have arrested a 66-year-old man on suspicion of the crime.
Carol Clark was 32 and lived in the Montpelier part of Bristol when she left her home for the last time on March 26th 1993. She was spotted by a witness getting into her car at around 11:30 PM that night, but after that she disappeared.
A dog walker subsequently discovered Carol’s body lying in the undergrowth alongside the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal in Sharpness Docks two days later.
She had been strangled and had her neck broken before she was dumped in the reeds by the water. According to Detective Inspector Wayne Murdock at a later inquest, Carol’s lower legs were immersed in the water and she was wearing only her bra, pants and cowboy-style boots, with the rest of her clothing missing.
A large-scale murder investigation was sparked by the discovery, with police finding the timescale corresponded with a celebration to mark the 200th anniversary of the waterways nearby…
