Police in Connecticut have announced they are now offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in the cold case murder of Diana Eichler.

It was June 16th 2012 when hikers made a horrifying discovery as they walked the scenic trail by the Miner Hills golf course on the outskirts of Middletown.

As they passed the picturesque Westfield Falls waterfall, they noticed a trail of red streaks leading into a drainage tunnel and decided to check it out. Under the bridge, they came across a woman’s body floating facedown in the water.

She was identified through fingerprints as being 30-year-old Diana Eichler, a resident of nearby New Britain and the mother of a five-year-old girl. The Chief Medical Examiner said she had died as a result of trauma to the head and a homicide investigation was opened.

Investigators believed Diana had been murdered in another location and dragged to the waterfall, and they said they were following up some “solid leads” at the time.
