Family of Woman Brutally Murdered in Hawaii Hopes For DNA Breakthrough
Amber Jackson was killed in 2010, but there may now have been a forensic development after the cold case was reopened.
Hopes have been raised that the murder of a woman in Hawaii dating back to 2010 could soon be solved after the case was re-examined by a new detective.
Amber Jackson, 57, was originally from California but made the move to Kauai after a holiday to the idyllic destination in 2000.
“She had been there to visit. She fell in love with the island. She loved exploring and going to new places,” her close friend Nancy Murphy told NBC’s Dateline.
Amber soon set to work living her new dream, buying a house and renovating it to live in with her two little dogs. In fact, she became so good at interior design and remodelling over the years that she also bought several more properties to do up and sell on, as well as working as a secretary for the Hawaii State Teachers Association in Kapaa.
Although Amber didn’t have kids, she was close to her nephew Matt Alexander and would sometimes invite him to Hawaii to visit. Her friends were also frequent guests and Amber was well-known for her generous spirit and kind heart.
