Gone For As Long As She Lived: Police Call For Closure on Missing News Anchor
It is 27 years since 27-year-old Jodi Huisentruit disappeared in Iowa, and investigators want answers for the family she left behind.
Investigators in Iowa are marking a significant anniversary of their highest-profile missing persons case in the hope that someone will come forward with new information.
June 27th 2022 marks 27 years since news anchor Jodi Huisentruit disappeared from outside her apartment in Mason City, and she has never been seen since. Family members have pointed out in an article for the St Paul Pioneer Press that Jodi has now been missing for as many years as she lived.
Jodi’s disappearance
Jodi grew up in Minnesota and was pursuing her dream of becoming one of the country’s top news anchors. In 1995, she had been hired at KIMT-TV in Iowa’s Mason City and was working on a morning show called DayBreak, which required her to arrive in the studio at 4:00 AM.
On June 27th 1995, there was no sign of the young career woman, so her producer Amy Kuns called her at home to check where she was. Jodi was flustered, as the call woke her and she realised she had overslept and would be late.
