He Took His Secret to the Grave: The Disappearance of Lori Ceci Bova

Police in upstate New York have said they have never given up hope of finding a Lakewood woman who disappeared in 1997, despite the prime suspect now being deceased.

And in searching for 26-year-old Lori Ceci Bova, they may help to provide closure for the relatives of two other women whose remains were subsequently discovered buried in the woods in the same county.

Lori’s last meal

It was June 7th 1997, and Lori had gone out to dinner at a local restaurant called the Red Lobster with her husband Tyrone and one of her sisters. The trio left the establishment at around 10:30 PM and made their way back to their respective homes.

The events of the next few hours are unclear. What is known is that the following day, Tyrone called Lori’s family to say that she was missing and to ask if they had seen her. After a brief search of the neighbourhood when they realised she was nowhere to be found, they called the police.
