Missouri Serial Murderer ‘The Package Killer’ is Finally Unmasked

He terrorised St Louis briefly in the 1990s before disappearing, but police can now put a face to the infamous name.

Authorities in Missouri have announced at a press conference that they have finally been able to arrest and charge a man in connection with four murders that happened more than 30 years ago.

The so-called Package Killer has been named as 73-year-old Gary Muehlberg, who was already incarcerated for life the murder of a colleague in 1993.

Four innocent victims

It was over a six-month period in 1990 that women began to disappear across four of the counties within St Louis, Missouri.

Robyn Mihan, 18, was the first, followed by Brenda Pruitt, 27, Donna Reitmeyer, 40, and Sandy Little, 21. They were all later discovered murdered and dumped in makeshift containers, including garbage cans, wooden boxes and mattresses bound together with rope.

This method of disposal led police to suspect they were dealing with one suspect, whom the media quickly dubbed ‘the Package Killer’.

The investigation into the deaths was hampered by stigma arising from the fact that three of the victims were sex…
