Murdered In Front of His Family: Who Killed Charles Britt?
15 years on, the young father’s loved ones are hoping to one day get justice.
It was February 15th 2008, and Charles Britt had gone out to get pizza for a family movie night with his wife and two young sons.
The Britts lived in Wichita Falls, Kansas, and Charles was a hard-working electrician and dedicated father to the two little boys, who were eagerly awaiting his return home with the takeout.
Charles’s wife Christina heard him return to the house at around 8:30 PM and sent the kids to meet him at the door — but then her blood must have run cold as she heard the sounds of a scuffle on the driveway and her husband yell out “call the police”.
Christina hurriedly herded the boys away from the front of the house and grabbed for her phone, but before she could place the call, a gunshot rang out. Charles had been shot on the driveway of his home on the 1100 block of Filmore — and he was badly injured.
Neighbour Charlene Gates heard the commotion and opened her own door to a heart-wrenching scene. Christina was hunched over a prone Charles and screaming for help.
“She was tore up so bad — she was trying to talk to him, saying, ‘Hang on, hang on, it’s gonna be all right’…
