A man has been sentenced to life in prison after a judge found him guilty of committing one of Scotland’s most notorious double murders. As he prepares to start a jail term, police are now imploring him to reveal the location of the remains of Renee MacRae and her three-year-old son Andrew.

A secret rendezvous ends in disaster

It was November 12th 1976, and 36-year-old Renee MacRae from Inverness in Scotland was preparing to take a trip. She had told her estranged husband Gordon that she was planning to visit her sister in nearby Kilmarnock and would be taking their three-year-old son Andrew along for the weekend.

Gordon was concerned about the inclement weather as Renee packed the car and offered to book her a train ticket instead, but she insisted she would be fine as she loaded Andrew’s pushchair into the boot along with an overnight bag.
