Still Missing: Where is Kim Larrow?

41 years on, investigators and family members still hope for closure.

It was 1981, and 15-year-old Kim Marie Larrow was looking forward to spending the long, lazy days of summer in Michigan’s Canton Township with her friends and family.

However, just days into her break, Kim vanished after visiting an ice cream parlour and was never seen again.

Now, more than four decades on, the teenager’s loved ones still hope to one day find out what happened to the happy-go-lucky schoolgirl — even if that means discovering she was murdered all those years ago.

A carefree summer

Kim’s parents were divorced and she was therefore used to moving back and forward between their two Michigan homes. Her mother Lucy Larrow lived in Canton and, in June 1981, Kim had headed there from her father’s place in Dundee to spend the summer.

According to the Detroit News, Lucy had a particularly lenient parenting style and Kim took advantage of this the way many teenagers at the time would: she partied, hung out with her friends and occasionally experimented with recreational drugs.
