An arrest has been made in a cold case murder dating back to 2014, authorities in North Carolina have announced.

Tammy Sellers Holland was 50 and had worked for over ten years as a server at Elizabeth’s Pizza in Thomasville in the fall of 2014.

Described as a “devoted employee” and a “kind person beloved by her colleagues”, Tammy was renowned for her dependability, so it was unusual when she failed to show up for a shift that October 28th.

A concerned neighbour realised Tammy’s car was still parked outside her trailer at the Loflin Hill Mobile Home Park in Trinity when she should have been working, so she went over to check on her.

After peering in through the window, the neighbour saw Tammy sprawled on the living room floor. She had been the victim of a brutal homicide in which she had been stabbed as many as 13 times, an autopsy report later concluded.

Although local residents and Tammy’s acquaintances were interviewed at the time, no leads could be found and the murder case slowly went cold.
