When a 32-year-old woman from Pennsylvania was murdered in 1990, a dedicated detective set to work hunting down the leads that could uncover her killer.

However, after he unexpectedly died himself, the case was allowed to go cold — and it wasn’t until almost 30 years later that a member of the public realised she had found the vital evidence that could solve it sitting in plain sight.

So with more pieces of the puzzle in place than ever before, why isn’t more being done to solve the mystery once and for all — and ensure everyone involved is brought to justice?

A creature of habit

Donna Dickey was the mother of two young sons and she worked at a department store in Bensalem. She was known for her wide smile and for following her heart, her sister Jill Stinson told the Bucks County Courier Times, even if that might not always be the best thing to do.

“I would say she was way too trusting, too kind. She’d do anything for anybody,” she recalled.
