The families of a married couple who died under mysterious circumstances in Australia eight years ago may be hoping for answers after the government announced a new reward initiative for cold cases.
According to the Western Australian authorities, rewards are to be standardised to AU$1 million for 64 historical unsolved homicides and suspicious missing persons cases in the hope it may encourage witnesses to come forward.
Police Minister Paul Papalia said: “The WA Police Force have always treated every case as equally as important (but) sadly our reward system has not reflected that approach. It is a wrong that we are righting today.”
Among the 64 cases is that of Jennie and Raymond Kehlet, whose story began with a gold prospecting trip in March 2015.

Jennie, 49, and Raymond, 47, loved the outdoors and had camped frequently in the bush, so they were no strangers to the sometimes harsh terrain of WA.
