It has been 28 years since the Arkansas teenager was abducted and killed, but her case remains very much alive.
Life was busy for Fort Smith native Melissa ‘Missy’ Witt. The 19-year-old was not only attending Westark Community College and excelling as an honor student, but also working a part-time job as a dental assistant with a view to making it a career after graduation.
However, her dreams would be brutally cut short after she was abducted and murdered one cold December day. More than a quarter of a century on, can a billboard campaign and a dedicated victim’s advocate finally catch the killer and achieve justice for Missy?
The day of the disappearance
It was December 1st 1994, and Missy had spent the early morning with her mother Mary Ann before heading to classes at college. The two were particularly close, but had had an uncharacteristic disagreement that day.
